Bornheim Mitte Berger Strasse, Frankfurt
Very pleasant welcome, and the pastries are delicious! I recommend
A very good French Bistro / Boulangerie in Frankfurt. Very good product and above all fresh. The manager is really nice and helpful. You should never believe in a bad reputation on Google. You always have to go yourself and test the products on site. The galette des rois is a marvel. Hats off to you and good luck
Simply delicious!
In short: I had to experience that a mask refuser was given preferential treatment. When he also aggressively bullied a customer who wanted to keep her distance, the employees looked the other way. I and my family will never see a shop that violates the current hygiene regulations again. The declining quality makes the decision easy for us. Fortunately, there are a number of alternatives in Bornheim.
I just chewed two chocolate brownies and a piece of cake for 12 euros. Unfortunately totally dry, old and inedible. An impudence !!!!!!!
Cheek, expensive when he doesn't produce everything himself. I really don't buy any more and is not recommended.
Always a pleasure, very friendly staff, great cakes!
It used to have a better atmosphere when the owners were present, they seemed to care more and it was a friendlier place. They rarely open on time but leave you and fellow customers queuing and waiting at weekends as the guy delivering the bread is notoriously late. While they have a sign that you should enter with a mask, the guy delivering breads and pastries does not wear a mask at all but even "helps" by passing goods to customers. So in case he is infectious, he´ll spread his germs all over the place. When I brought up that he´s putting customers and colleagues at risk, he did not care and nothing changed the weekends after. I am heading somewhere else for the time being.
Good but slow service.
Unfortunately, coffee doesn't taste good Not a real French café in my opinion
The tartlets and hot chocolate are delicious. But what is wrong with your employees ?!
Very authentic établissement, a feeling of being in France! Great selection at very fair prices! Absolutely to be recommended! ❤️
Very delicious patisserie ... Very attentive service, for example my two delicious pastries were stuck to the bottom of the box with tesa and thus survived even a few kilometers of walk with me ... I also had a sensational americano. And to top it off, a French accent at the cash register. J'aime bien. ? And unbeatable for people-watching on a sunny autumn day ... Hot chocolate is a dream, pain au chocolat too ...
Service friendly, very good coffee and cake. Tarte flambée unfortunately dry and rather not recommended.
The service is friendly! The baguette, the croissants and everything else in the patisserie taste very good. Good quality!!
I held back with this criticism for a long time, but after this morning I had to realize for what felt like the 100th time that you just couldn't manage to open your shop on time, I turned around for the first time and gave up your delicious croissants ... It's sad to see how you slowly lose your reputation due to unreliability despite top quality (which you undoubtedly have to offer) ... your ratings were over 4.5!) ... would like to stay true to you. I hope you read this!
Here you can find the best baguette and the best croissants outside of France ... or at least in Frankfurt. The Jeanette bread is also excellent. Unfortunately a bit expensive but worth it.
Something has changed at this once-loved establishment. We waited for over 40 minutes for croque monsieur to arrive to our table. When it finally arrived, it was basically two pieces of white American sliced bread, it was not crispy or tasty. They used to make the most delicious croque monsieurs there --but this was more like something mircrowaved at school cafeteria. The salad was something they took out of a bag, no dressing even. I'm less likely to buy their pasty now, based on this experience. Sad to see this happen to what used to be such a wonderful and welcoming place.
Was twice today in this great cafe with such nice service! The coffee and pastries - so excellent that a visit wasn't enough.
We had ice chocolate, which consisted only of cold cocoa with cream. So far I have known this with at least one ball of ice cream. We didn't have to leave any contact details there even though we were sitting there. The waitress's mask hung under his nose.
Could be a nice café, actually. Unfortunately, you are often not served. Sitting on the terrace forever and nobody comes. Although only two tables are occupied. Has happened several times now. The best thing to do is just go to the Wacker next door. There you are served, friendly and immediately.
My girlfriend and I were there for the first time today and ordered "Brunch a 2" .. But that was a terrible surprise for us: - Cocoa was cold - Cappuccino consists of 99% milk - Bread cannot be cut (as if it was from last week !!) The friendly ones probably haven't heard of hygienic measures: - No soap in the women's toilet. - Shoes of some employee is simply under a table where the guests are served !! Never go back !!
My go-to cafe in my neighborhood. I really appreciate the effort to keep the place open every single day (over Christmas, New Years etc..) and also during the Corona crisis. They make very good cafe au lait (coffee is better than their neighboring Wacker) and croissants. It would be great if they can widen the offerings though - for example I really miss the Flan and Tarte au Citron they used to offer.
Nice and cozy. You got to try the brownies...
Delicious french pastries, too bad there wasn't more choices. We ordered a galette, which meet all our expectations (except we could see the fève from outside but well ?), it was very good. Very friendly staff, I want to go again !
Good pastries/bread, and friendly staff!
Thing that stood out the most was the sweetest speaking french waiter upstairs who seemed genuinely interested in people joining the brunch.. As my German friend suggested, I think they should make the bread pieces smaller so you can really try a lot of stuff without wasting. Food is quite good. I enjoyed everything I tried and the ambience upstairs is nice looking over the Berger strasse square.
Nice café, pleasant service. Prices were reasonable. Good coffee and cakes, etc. Other things on menu as well, which we did not try. We met upstairs with a group of seven people for two hours on Sunday afternoon, our second time there. Recommendable. It was pleasant, and we will return.
Decent, slightly better than store bought macarons
Cute french place, where the food tastes authentic (take it from a Frenchman!). The bread, pastries, quiches,... all of it is so tasty! Whether it's for a quick café au lait or a full weekend brunch, this is definitely a place to visit.
We ordered 2 dishes at the counter with one member of staff, with the intention of eating in. Just as we were going to be given our food however, another waitress swiftly took it away, saying we had to order at the table. We then had to order the same food again - the same 2 plates of food took another 15 minutes to arrive at our table. Though it was lovely, the service was poor.
My food was lovely but very difficult to eat. We sat outside but there must have been a wasp nest right next to the building . Every time something was brought out they would swarm. About 8 settled on my Croque monsieur. Ended up taking it inside to eat as it was getting ridiculous. But inside, the cakes and pastries on display were covered in wasps. No attempt was made to get rid of them either on the tables or elsewhere. The staff didn't seem bothered at all. Nice meal ruined.
Excellent breakfast, perfect service... A corner of France in the heart of Frankfurt!
Recommends
Great pastries
French food. As French native I recommend their baguette and croissants. At the beginning it was Possible to order in French but now not sure. .. :-(
Friendly service, delicious pastries and macarons. Good coffee
Friendly Staff
Actually 4,5. I love their sweets, but breakfast was just ok
Very good French patisserie and omlettes, with nice staff.
Nice French pastry in Frankfurt but pricey. Today we decided to change a bit and go for a French pastry in Frankfurt. We were positively surprised with the good food quality. We had a croque madame, an omelette campagne, fresh jus d’orange, fruit tea, vanilla éclaire and a tarte crumble and berries. Very delicious but all a bit pricey. You can stay outside as well and in a nice sunny day, like today it’s amazing
Great croissants and the pastries looked delicious
The Best
Great bread and delicious croissants. Never went in to eat but as a bakery goes, this is a great French one.
a little bit of France in Frankfurt :-) friendly service, supertasty food & the place is opened on Sundays!
Service at the front was lovely, at the back it was rather cold.
Polite staff, food okay’ish, no card payment possible.
It’s perfect place to take a coffe or brunch, or only buy a REAL French baguette! I love! The people it’s really nice and lovely! Only cash!
I went to the saturday brunch several times but the last time was not a good experience. Price has increased a lot (20€ now without drinks) but quality has decreased e.g. simple scrambbled eggs now instead of oeufs cocottes (with cream, spinach...). Cheese of low quality (cheap one from Metro I guess). And service was not so friendly (which seems to be a repeated comment). Overall not worth the price anymore and probably my last time for the brunch at least.
Great food but the waiter messed the order up twice haha
